Tang Tomb Murals — Fired Porcelain Panels
Tang tomb murals are among the best surviving records of Tang court life — processions, banquets, attendants, horses. We reproduce selected scenes as fired porcelain panels, made as individual pieces to order.

Painting on the Tomb Wall
Tang elite tombs were painted. The walls carry processions of attendants, foreign envoys, polo matches, banquets with musicians, and the horses and camels that appear in the ceramics too.
They survive because they were underground. Many were excavated in the twentieth century in and around Luoyang, and they are now the primary visual record of what Tang court life looked like — far more detailed than anything in the ceramics alone.

Each panel is made to order. Size, scene and glaze are agreed with the maker before work begins. Because the pieces are fired, colour will move in the kiln, and the finished panel is a reading of the original rather than a facsimile.

Custom Work
