Sancai Glaze Panel — Tang Horse in Profile
Sancai Glaze PaintingPricing depends on size, craft grade and order quantity. Request a quote for your specification.
A sancai glaze panel showing a Tang horse in profile, set in a close-grained hardwood frame. Glazed in amber, emerald and cream on a ceramic slab, for wall display in hospitality and retail settings.

Glaze, not paint
The image is fired into the surface in sancai glazes. The colour is in the glaze, so it does not sit on top of the panel or fade like a print.
Framed in hardwood
The glazed slab is set in a close-grained hardwood frame, mitred at the corners and finished to sit flat against a wall.
Made for wall display
Supplied ready to hang, for corridors, lobbies and retail walls where a flat piece is needed rather than a standing object.
Subject to your reference
The horse is our standard subject. Other forms can be worked from your drawing, a photograph, or an excavated reference.

Craft & Materials
Slab, glaze and frame
The panel is a ceramic slab, glazed in sancai colours and fired, then set in a close-grained hardwood frame. The frame is mitred at the corners and finished so the panel hangs flat against a wall.
What is done by hand
The glazing is the hand-worked part. Colour is laid so that the glazes run together in the kiln, which is what gives the panel its depth — the movement in the surface is fired in, not brushed on afterwards.
Hanging and care
The panel is supplied ready to hang. Keep it out of direct sun and away from damp walls; clean the glazed surface with a soft dry cloth.
